The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has commended the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for his commitment to advancing education and supporting the educational development agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Yilwatda gave the commendation on Monday during the commissioning of the newly completed senior staff quarters at ICT University Oferekpe Agbaja in Izzi Local Government Area of the state. The event took place shortly after a grand rally where party stakeholders endorsed President Tinubu as the APC’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
Speaking at the ceremony, the APC national chairman lauded Governor Nwifuru for his unwavering dedication to improving educational infrastructure and promoting quality education in the state. He described the completion of the staff quarters as a significant achievement that would enhance the university’s capacity to attract and retain qualified academic personnel.
According to Yilwatda, the project reflects the governor’s commitment to human capital development and aligns with the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen the education sector across the country.
In his remarks, Governor Nwifuru disclosed that the staff quarters project was initiated by his predecessor and current Minister of Works, David Nweze Umahi. He explained that upon assuming office, his administration embraced the vision and ensured its completion.
The governor expressed gratitude to the host community for providing the land that made the project possible and noted that the successful completion of the quarters would contribute significantly to the growth and development of the institution.
Nwifuru also thanked President Tinubu for creating an enabling environment for states to pursue developmental projects, stressing that his administration remains committed to delivering people-oriented programmes and infrastructure across Ebonyi State.
The commissioning of the senior staff quarters is expected to improve staff welfare and further strengthen the academic environment at ICT University, Oferekpe Agbaja.
