Demand to Free Chibok Girls from Captivity with Terrorists
The group called on the Nigerian Government and Borno State Government to let the rescued Chibok girls go back to their families instead of marrying them to terrorists.
The Kibaku Area Development Association (KADA) and #BringBackOurGirls Movement demand that the Borno State Government releases the Chibok girls to their families and not to terrorists. They criticize the government for forcing the girls to marry terrorists without their parents’ consent.
During a press conference in Abuja, the association’s National President, Dauda Ndirpaya Iliya, criticized the Borno State Government for holding the girls captive in Maiduguri under the guise of rehabilitation.
The association is disappointed with the government’s decision to arrange marriages between the freed kidnapped girls and “repentant terrorists” without consulting their parents.
They demand an apology for calling terrorists ‘husbands’ of the kidnapped girls and urge the government to release the girls to their families.
Additionally, they call for better support for the Chibok schools and immediate disclosure of the names of girls who died in captivity.
They demand transparency in the investigation of funds meant for the Chibok girls’ education and urge the government to release the General Sabo fact-finding committee report of 2014.
