Leaders of Obile Autonomous Community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State have reaffirmed implicit confidence vote in Hon. Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka as their Town Union President -General.
The leaders who spoke to newsmen after an emergency meeting held in Obile on Friday 21st June,2024 condemned an infantile and malicious newspaper publication against their worthy Son,Hon. Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka popularly called “Blocker” authored by one Mr. Ndubuisi Obido and his cohorts.
However, the Secretary of Obile Town Union,Mr. Stanley Ojika stated that they would have choose to be silent, but for avoidance of doubt and also put the records straight and to let members of the general public know who is trying to deceive the world.
Mr. Ojika accused Ndubuisi Obido of indulging in nefarious activities and well known his key roles in criminal activities in Orlu.
He flayed the misleading newspaper publication where Obido claimed to be the President -General of Obile Town Union noting that Hon. Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka remains their authentic PG of Obile Town Union, Coordinating PG of All PGs in Ohaji/Egbema LGA as well as the leader of Imo State Council of Town Unions President-Generals.
According to him,”Ndubuisi Obido is just an errand boy of one Inspector Chika Innocent Okebata popularly called Kill and bury whom he uses with his security outfit called “say no to crime” that have been terrorizing the whole of Ohaji/Egbema. Ndubuisi Obido is never the PG of Obile Autonomous Community. He has a questionable character.
He did mentioned Ezeship matter. The Town Union can only inform the general public on happenings in the Community . The truth is that Ezeship matter has been in court before the emergence of Hon.
Omuruka as President-General since 2002 and ended in 2022. You don’t expect him to be calling a man whom a court of competent jurisdiction has found guilty of forging certificate of recognition as his Eze. And he has gone to appeal court.
On the issue of levy collection,I advise the general public to access Obile Autonomous Community by themselves and listen to my people directly without fear or favour. Omuruka single handedly brought a Secondary School & health centre to my Community in 2022. And the School is called Government College Obile, Government approved. We therefore, agreed at a general Community meeting to first employ Community teachers that will assist the School to grow. And the entire Community agreed and we employed 7 Community teachers that we are paying #20,000 per person monthly Which was suggested by one Opara Rolland. . Minutes of meeting attached. Which is #140,000. When government teachers came , we didn’t have a mathematics teacher, we have to employ a mathematics teacher in 2023 making Community teachers 8 in number.
On security, some leaders in my Community don’t like security because they enjoy the crises that emanate from cult related activities (Ndi ala adighi mma). Our Community was no go area prior to his(Omuruka) emergence, infact insecurity was one of the reasons why he contested for President-General. Today my place is peaceful & accessible to the glory of God. Parts of d
the said levy was also used to pay our Community security until when Government started paying them because of their good work. Today those boys have been transfered by Government through DSS to other local governments for Sanity jobs. The Community stopped paying the said levy since October 2023, since then till date Omuruka has been paying the Community teachers from his purse including Corp members that are posted to the School. These are verifiable facts. Enemies of the Community are not happy with the developments so far.
Hon. Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka remains the best choice of Obile people. And he was elected and also appointed as PG by Government. Embattled Eze Abyssinia Ogbuji has no powers to remove Omuruka. It might interest you to know that Abyssinia Ogbuji has been sacked as traditional ruler of Obile Autonomous Community by court of competent jurisdiction sometime in 2022 over forgery of Certificate of Recognition.
That there is a rumour of excommunicating and chasing him to exile remains an infantile statement.
Omuruka has done noble for the people of Obile.
He single-handedly graded Obile roads right-round. He built 3000 capacity hall for us. He attracted Secondary School, Government College, Obile to us.
He pays salaries to at least 8 teachers teaching at Government College, Obile which is verifiable.
Omuruka is the best thing that has ever happened to Obile people. Obile people can now sleep with their two eyes closed courtesy of Hon. Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka.
The issue of raping and killings in Obile is now a thing of the past.
Omuruka has no security outfit as Ndubuisi Obido claimed in his write-up.
We hereby disowns Ndubuisi Obido.
Anybody doing business with Ndubuisi Obido does that at his/her own peril”.
Also speaking, the Youth Leader of Obile Autonomous Community,Hon. Amaechi John stated that Ndubuisi Obido is looking for a way to gain entrance into their Community’s leadership so as to bring back insecurity to Obile.
Hon. Amaechi John recounted how Kill and bury,his boys and Ndubuisi Obido attacked them on 7th June,2024 at Izombe Central School,Oguta LGA of Imo State where member representing Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwa distributed palliatives to his constituents.
‘”Also note that, at Community School Obile where the said kangaroo inauguration took place is where Nigeria Police men reside in Obile posted from Anti-kidnapping Unit of Imo State Police Command . Why is it that Kill and Bury coming all the way from Egbema where there are policemen on ground to Ohaji?. Is he more competent than them? Inspector Benjamin aka Makalele is a strong Police officer who has helped the environment security wise so far”,he stated.
He called on Imo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma and security agencies to quickly intervene on the matter.
“It’s higher time for Ndubuisi Obido tell the general public who made him PG. Which process did he emerged the PG of Obile Town Union.
Nobody should take him serious,as he is only looking for a way to bring back insecurity to our Community. And we must resist him”, the youth Leader submitted.
It would be recalled that all the PGs of Town Unions in Ohaji/Egbema had earlier called on Inspector General of Police to as a matter of fact dismiss Inspector Chika Innocent Okebata over attempted murder of Hon. Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka and continuous threat to lives of PGs.
