The chairmanship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for Onuimo LGA, Dr. Emeka Obi, has declared his readiness to win the Saturday, September 21 Imo State Local Government Council Elections in the area, adding that his administration would bring transformation to the LGA.
Dr. Obi, was fielding questions from newsmen on Monday, September 16, during a stakeholders’ meeting of the Imo APC at the party secretariat along Okigwe Road Owerri, drawing in attendance the deputy governor, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, the Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chike Olemgbe, Chief of Staff, Barrister Nnamdi Anyaehie and Barrister Enyinanya Onuegbu, the Chief Political Adviser and Head, Political Bureau of the state government.
According to him, every factor needed for victory at the polls were on his side, including his tested and trusted leadership qualities as well as the unprecedented achievements of the APC led-government under Governor Hope Uzodimma, which had paved way for him and the APC to clinch victory on Saturday, he said, promising to deliver dividends of democracy to the people of Onuimo.
Dr. Obi, emphasized: “We are very much ready. You know that APC is the largest party in Africa, so we are ready and we have been doing it. We will win and will continue to win because we have the structures, we have the facilities and we have the records on ground. Our members are tested and trusted and our people believe so much in us before we have track record of performance. I am well prepared to win the election on Saturday in order to develop our LGA.
“You know that APC has come to stay. It is a party they cannot beat because of the positive impact the APC government in the country has put in place, and when you narrow it down to Imo State, the 3R Government of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, has done so much in all the areas of the state including in infrastructural development, reorientation, and technology.
“It is also clear that Governor Uzodimma has performed well in education, healthcare, improved worker’s welfare and human empowerment among others. So, with what I represent and these levels of achievements that the Imo APC government has attained, we will go to the field for the polls on Saturday and surely, victory will be ours.”
The APC chairmanship candidate who also served as the immediate past Sole Administrator of the LGA, urged the people of Onuimo to be peaceful and law-abiding before, during and after the elections. He enjoined them to continue to believe in him and in the APC to always deliver dividends of democracy, as he encouraged them to come out massively on Saturday to elect him into office, promising not to let them down.
