All is set today for the Imo State 2024 Local Government Elections being organized by the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC). In few hours ahead, the voters in the state will exercise their franchise of electing their preferred candidates for chairmanship and councillorship positions.
No doubt, the ongoing restoration of full and functional local government system in the state will definitely bring about rapid development to the grassroots. It’s common knowledge that the absence of democratically elected local government officials, had for long denied the rural areas the needed development as well as participatory democracy on the side of the dwellers.
For this reason, the people are excited, and it’s hoped that those to be elected as chairmen and councillors for the 27 LGAs and the 305 wards of the state are the best among others in order to drive the much needed development and human empowerment in the rural areas. This fact should not be taken for granted, because it’s time to change the narratives for better.
Meanwhile, in Mbaitolu LGA, these factors were strongly considered, hence the emergence of Hon.
