The Imo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief, Mrs. Ruby Emele, has commended the Imo State Governor, His Excellency Dist. Senator Hope Odidika Uzodinma, for approving the conduct of council election in the state.
The APC chieftain gave the commendation on Saturday, 21ist September, 2024, while addressing election monitors who visited her country home, Amaraku in Isiala Mbano LGA of the state.
According to her, ushering in democratically elected government in the 27 local government areas of Imo state would further enhance rural development in the state, saying that local government system, as third tier government “is grassroots government for rural development”
She also commended the unwavering commitment of the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) to conducting a free, fair and credible poll.
The amiable and soft-spoken commissioner further commended Imolites particularly the people of Isiala Mbano for conducting themselves peacefully during the exercise.
She therefore, called on Imo rural dwellers to get ready for government presence and development in their localities.
