The Leader of Isu Legislative Council of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Kenneth Onwusolu has applauded Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma for approving a three day Capacity building retreat for officials of Imo local government areas .
Speaking in Owerri on Thursday after the governor declared the event open, Hon. Onwusolu praised Uzodinma for the crucial capacity building retreat for Imo Local government officials in Owerri on Thursday.
The council leader stated that the programme has offered LG Officials the opportunity to acquire broad knowledge of their responsibilities to the people in delivering the benefits of good governance in a democracy and promised that they would put it into practice.
The theme of the retreat was “Public Sector Governance for Officials of Local Government in Imo State – Enhancing Local Government Sustainable Development,”.
The Isu legislative leader submitted that Governor Uzodinma has continued to maintain his belief in democracy and good governance in his leadership, adding that he has ably ensured proper accountability in carrying out his development programmes.
Onwusoilu also commended Governor Uzodinma for his great social infrastructural strides in the state, especially road construction and
explained that the reconstruction of major roads in the state such as the Owerri – Orlu , Owerri- Okigwe and Owerri – Umuahia roads testified to his commitment to the infrastructural development of the state.
Governor Uzodimma while inaugurating the event described public service as a sacred trust and a platform for genuine community impact and enjoined the participants to strictly adhere to the Manifesto of the APC in carrying out their responsibilities.
He advised them to embrace responsibility, accountability and transparency.
