ENTRACO Steps Up to Transform Owerri into a Safer, Cleaner, and More Organized City

The Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission (ENTRACO) is working harder to improve Owerri, the state capital. Led by General Manager Honorable Anthony Emeka Anyaehie, the commission is cooperating with the government of Governor Hope Uzodimma to bring back law and order, improve sanitation, and make the city cleaner and better organized.

Anyaehie said that more people are following rules and regulations as enforcement increases. He explained that the goal is to make Owerri a city that is clean, safe, and well organized, similar to other leading cities worldwide.

Some residents have raised concerns about strict enforcement, but Anyaehie said ENTRACO listens to feedback and uses it to improve how they work. He said the commission wants to keep getting better so everyone in the city benefits.

ENTRACO does more than enforce rules. The commission clears overgrown grasses, keeps public spaces clean, and improves sanitation to make life better for residents. Many of these efforts happen quietly, but their effects can be seen across the city.

Traffic law violations, especially by commercial drivers who ignore traffic signals, have caused accidents and traffic jams. To fix this, ENTRACO plans to create official bus stops and terminals in Owerri. Drivers will only be allowed to pick up and drop off passengers at these places to reduce illegal parking and improve traffic flow.

Passenger safety is very important. Anyaehie mentioned recent accidents where people were hurt because buses had open doors while moving. He said all commercial drivers must keep bus doors closed while the vehicle is moving to protect passengers.

Finally, Anyaehie urged all ENTRACO workers to be honest and disciplined. He said corruption will not be accepted in the commission. He said they will keep working hard to support Governor Uzodimma’s vision for a cleaner, safer, and better organized Imo State.

With these actions, the people of Owerri can expect a city that is cleaner, safer, and more organized a sign of real progress and good leadership.
