Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma, praised Enugu State Governor Dr Peter Mbah for his decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). Uzodimma described the defection as a bold and smart move that will help promote national unity and support the development goals of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking at an event attended by key political figures, Governor Uzodimma praised Governor Mbah for showing political courage and clear vision in joining the APC. He said the decision shows growing recognition of the party’s commitment to Nigeria’s progress.

We from the South East are very pleased with Governor Mbah’s decision, Uzodimma said. This step not only increases the Southeast’s involvement in national politics but also shows the confidence the region has in the APC’s vision for the future.

Governor Uzodimma also thanked the Vice President, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the event. He appreciated Shettima’s ongoing efforts and leadership in advancing the administration’s development programs across the country.

This development marks an important political milestone as the Southeast region seeks to increase its influence within Nigeria’s ruling party. It positions the region for greater participation in national governance and policy decisions. Some analysts believe Governor Mbah’s defection could encourage other leaders in the region to make similar moves, potentially changing the political landscape before upcoming elections.
