The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has expressed condolences to the Russian government following the tragic terrorist attack and loss of lives at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow.
During the assault, the venue was set ablaze, resulting in a devastating loss of life.
Responsibility for the attack near Moscow’s popular concert hall complex was claimed by the Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) through a brief statement released by an ISIS-affiliated news agency on Telegram. However, no evidence was provided to substantiate the claim.
In response to the incident, IPOB, through its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, issued a statement condemning violent extremism and expressing solidarity with the Russian families affected by the attack.
IPOB emphasized the importance of Russia’s security intelligence in identifying and apprehending the perpetrators of the heinous act, highlighting the grave threat posed by terrorism to both domestic and international security.
Powerful emphasized that addressing the root causes of terrorism, particularly in Africa, is crucial for preventing future attacks. He asserted that decolonizing nations like Nigeria and other African countries would deprive terrorists and their sponsors of the resources necessary to fuel their activities.
By advocating for decolonization, IPOB aims to support Russia and other nations in their efforts to combat terrorism and protect their citizens from future threats.
