The Nigerian Horn Group of Newspapers, in collaboration with the South East Media Practitioners, is set to host the highly anticipated 2024 South East Media Summit & Awards. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 14th, 2024, at Rockview Hotel, located beside Government House in Owerri, Imo State. The summit will commence promptly at 10:00 AM and is expected to draw significant attention from media professionals, political figures, and dignitaries across the region.
The summit will feature His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor of Imo State, as the Special Guest of Honour. Governor Uzodimma’s participation underscores the importance of media in shaping the socio-political landscape of the South East region. His presence is expected to lend considerable weight to the discussions and celebrations planned for the day.
In an event poised to be both insightful and celebratory, the keynote address will be delivered by His Excellency Chief (Dr.) Ikedi Ohakim, former Governor of Imo State. Chief Ohakim, a respected leader and seasoned public servant, will share his wealth of experience and insights on the role of media in governance and community development.
Adding to the prestige of the event, the Chairman of the occasion is High Chief (Dr.) Michael C. Onuoha (Eri Egol), CEO of Allos Group. The event is organized under the capable leadership of Chief Kennedy Eweama, Chairman of the Planning Committee, and Hon. Dr. Basil Ekweke, Secretary of the Planning Committee.
