Special adviser to imo state government on Youth mobilization Hon. Eric Uwakwe has described youth as the most deprived constituency in world stressing that Nigeria youth should stand up to demand for their fundamental right.
Hon Uwakwe stated this at the inauguration of Imo youth stakeholders Council led by comrade Pope Ekwegh chairman and Engr Dr Ogechi Ikepema as secretary on 1st February 2025 at Imo youth center owerri.
He noted that imo youths deemed it fit to come together to speak with one voice in order to galvanized attention and support from our political leaders who have totally relegated the youth constituency with there divide and rule tactics.
According to him, days are gone when youths are been described as thugs, we must come together as stakeholders to demand for our quota, it is our fundamental human right hence the imo youth leadership have decided to come together to rekindle the spirit of comradeship and device strategies to take back youth constituency without generating civil unrest.
He further charged the inaugurated youth leaders to ensure they work collectively with every recognized youth organization in the state in order to achieve the desired goal.
Responding, the chairman Imo youth stakeholders Council comrade Pope Ekwegh assured that his leadership is poised to drive imo youth to positivity to change the narratives .
“Today depict another realm in the leadership of Imo state youths, our aim is to ensure that our youths are identified and integrated with all due entitlement, we will speak our mind in humility, respect and dignity, this time we will lias with the government to get what belong to the youths, we can no longer sit back and watch some leader embezzle our patrimony while the youths are left behind, he said.
Highlight of the event include passing vote of confidence to his Excellency Sen Hope Uzodinma and special adviser to governor on youth mobilization Hon Eric Uwakwe for his efforts in unifying the youth constituency.
