Former Rivers State governor and current FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has strongly criticized the Tanimu Turaki led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party for seeking help from former United States president Donald Trump while allegedly refusing to obey court rulings in Nigeria.

Wike condemned Turakis public appeal to Trump to save democracy in Nigeria, calling it embarrassing and hypocritical. He said that any political group that ignores domestic court orders has no moral justification to invite foreign intervention in the countrys internal matters.

He faulted the faction for going ahead with the Ibadan convention despite a court order that reportedly restrained the event. Wike said his own faction would continue to respect the law, stressing that obedience to legal directives remains essential for any serious political organization.

Wike accused Turakis group of attempting to cover its internal problems with loud public statements. He said indiscipline and disregard for agreements were major reasons for the deepening crisis in the PDP.

According to him, the conflict within the party goes beyond a leadership struggle and reflects a larger issue of impunity that is weakening the PDP from within.

As tensions grow between the rival factions, Wikes comments highlight the widening divisions and the uncertainty facing the PDP ahead of future political contests.
