The member representing Mbaitoli/ Ikeduru Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Akarachi Amadi on Monday 20, demonstrated his commitment to education and youth development by donating the sum of two million, sixty thousand naira (₦2,060,000) to support the registration of students for WAEC, NECO and BECE examinations at Secondary Commercial School, EZIAMA Ikeduru, in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.
The donation, which will cover the examination fees for many students preparing for the 2026/2027 academic session, has brought relief to parents, guardians, and the students themselves. This generous intervention is part of Hon. Amadi’s vision to ensure that no student is denied access to education due to financial constraints.
Hon. Amadi was represented at the occasion by the Director General (DG) of the constituency office, Sir Chinedu Ugochukwu, who addressed the students and staff on behalf of the lawmaker. In his speech, he noted that education remains a powerful tool for personal and societal transformation. He urged the students to take full advantage of the opportunity by studying hard, remaining disciplined, and striving for excellence in their academic pursuits.
He was accompanied by the Head of Communication of the Akarachi Constituency Office, Mr. Irobi Darlington, who also spoke to the students. He encouraged them not to take the gesture for granted but to stay committed to their studies in order to achieve good results. He further highlighted other educational support initiatives introduced by Hon. Amadi, including free JAMB registration and free Computer-Based Test (CBT) training for students across the constituency. According to him, students who score 200 and above in JAMB examinations stand a chance to benefit from further educational sponsorship opportunities provided by Hon. Amadi.
The event also featured goodwill messages from members of the community. The President General (PG), Chief Mbagwu Peter, commended Hon. Amadi for his generosity and dedication to the education of the youth. He advised the students to maintain good moral conduct, respect their teachers, and remain focused on their studies.
In the same vein, the Women President General, Lolo Victoria Melariri, addressed the gathering and encouraged the students, especially the female students, to take their education seriously and aim high in life. She praised Hon. Amadi for remembering the students of EZIAMA Ikeduru and supporting their academic journey.
The Principal of Secondary Commercial School, EZIAMA Ikeduru, Mrs. Osuji Emelda N., expressed gratitude on behalf of the school management, staff, students, and parents. She described the donation as timely and impactful, noting that it would help reduce the financial burden on families and ensure that students can sit for their examinations without difficulty. She prayed for God’s continued blessings and protection upon Hon. Akarachi Amadi.
Some of the students also shared their excitement and appreciation. They expressed joy and gratitude, describing the support as a valuable opportunity. Many of them offered prayers for Hon. Amadi, asking God to reward him and guide him in his service.
