The The Mazi Organization (TMO) has formally stepped into the 2027 political season with a detailed electoral roadmap centered on Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi. The announcement was made during a press briefing in Owerri, where the organization addressed journalists, supporters, and political observers, laying out its plans and clarifying its direction ahead of the upcoming general elections.
The briefing drew wide attention across Imo State, as TMO presented what it described as a carefully structured two-stage political approach. According to the group, the plan was developed after extensive consultations and discussions with stakeholders across different levels of its political network. The aim, it stated, is to ensure a coordinated path into both legislative and executive contests in 2027.
Speaking on behalf of the organization, the Director General, Henry Onwukwe, explained that Dr. Amadi will first contest the Owerri Zone Senate seat under the Action People’s Party (APP) in the early phase of the 2027 elections. He added that this will be followed by a move into the governorship race in Imo State later in the same year. He described the arrangement as a planned progression aimed at building political strength in stages.
Onwukwe noted that the Senate contest will provide a platform for wider engagement with communities across the state. It will allow the campaign to reach different local government areas, connect with voters, and strengthen its presence at the grassroots level. He also explained that it will help in organizing party structures and preparing for a more competitive statewide race.
The organization further stated that participation in the Senate race will offer exposure to national legislative processes. It said this experience will support deeper understanding of governance, policy discussions, and political negotiations, which it considers important for a governorship ambition.
TMO explained that both elections are linked as part of one continuous political journey. It said the strategy is designed so that progress in the first election will support preparations for the second. According to the group, experience gained, relationships built, and structures developed during the Senate race will play a role in the governorship campaign.
The organization also called on its supporters and members to remain active throughout the process. It urged consistent engagement at the community level, stronger coordination across local areas, and continued participation in political activities as preparations advance.
The briefing concluded with the organization outlining its readiness for the electoral season, maintaining that its structured approach is aimed at positioning its candidate effectively ahead of the 2027 elections.
