A new leadership has emerged for the Nwangele Local Government Area (LGA) chapter of the Action People’s Party (APP), following the successful conduct of its LGA Congress held in April 2026.
Hon. Arc Cornel Mbadiwe was elected as Chairman, while Comrade C. J. Adibe emerged as Secretary. Their emergence came through an electoral process widely described by party stakeholders as peaceful, transparent, and well-coordinated. Observers noted that the exercise reflected the unity, strength, and growing grassroots structure of the party within the LGA.

Party faithful say the election of Mbadiwe and Adibe is a testament to the confidence reposed in their leadership capacity, dedication, and commitment to advancing the ideals of the APP.
Other executives elected during the Congress include, Prince Emma Nwosu (Treasurer), Eugenia Okoro (Financial Secretary), Ogochukwu Livingstone (Youth Leader), Mrs. Isinwa Kelechi (Woman Leader), and Mr. Leo Ejiogu (Assistant Financial Secretary).
In his acceptance speech, Mbadiwe expressed profound gratitude to God for the success of the Congress and thanked party members for finding him and his team worthy to lead at a critical time ahead of the 2027 general elections. He called on members to rally behind his leadership, assuring them of his commitment to taking the party to greater heights.
The former student union leader also appreciated the State Chairman of the APP, Hon. Njesi Ernest, for his unwavering support, guidance, and dedication to ensuring the success of the Congress. He described Ernest’s leadership as inspiring progress across all levels of the party.
Mbadiwe further acknowledged the leader of the party in the LGA, Chief Ambassador Edith Nwosu (popularly known as Ikuku Oma Nwangele), for her steadfast encouragement and contributions to the unity and growth of the party in the area, describing her role as invaluable. He assured her of continued solidarity from party members.
While congratulating the newly elected executives, the chairman urged them to remain committed to unity and progress, reminding them that their emergence reflected the trust and confidence placed in them by party members.
In her remarks, Amb. Nwosu hailed the outcome of the Congress, describing the emergence of Mbadiwe and his team as a positive step for the party’s progress. She commended members for their orderly, peaceful, and thoughtful conduct during the exercise, urging the new leadership to justify the mandate given to them.
She also pledged her continued support for the party. Describing the APP as a party with a progressive ideology focused on the welfare of the masses, she emphasized the importance of grassroots mobilization and expressed confidence in the party’s chances in the 2027 elections.
Some party members who spoke to reporters on condition of anonymity expressed optimism over the new leadership, noting that the outcome of the Congress signals a new chapter of progress in Nwangele. They maintained that the APP offers a platform for the positive change people are yearning for.
The election of the Mbadiwe-led executive is seen as a clear demonstration of the resolve of party members to build a formidable structure capable of mobilizing the grassroots and positioning the party for victory in upcoming elections.
