Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has called on aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to remain calm and committed to peace as internal tensions continue within the party.
Her intervention follows recent judicial pronouncements that have generated mixed reactions among party stakeholders, particularly regarding the status of Samuel Anyanwu. While some factions have interpreted the rulings as undermining his position, the senator dismissed such claims, insisting they are speculative and do not reflect the legal reality.
Akpoti-Uduaghan stressed that maintaining stability within the party requires commitment to dialogue, due process, and mutual respect. She noted that unity is essential for resolving the current crisis and strengthening the PDP’s political relevance and credibility.
According to her, the ongoing disagreements present an opportunity for the party to demonstrate maturity by embracing inclusive engagement and constructive conflict resolution. She added that internal cohesion remains a key factor in building public trust and sustaining the party’s role in Nigeria’s democratic landscape.
The senator also warned that prolonged disputes could weaken the party’s effectiveness and distract from its core objectives. She called on leaders at all levels to remain focused on collective progress and place the party’s long-term interests above personal ambitions.
She concluded by urging members to stay disciplined and work together, expressing confidence that the PDP can overcome its current challenges through cooperation and good faith.
