Yoruba Political Support Group confers Patron on Kehinde, Fmr. Perm. Sec.

A Sociopolitical group in Imo State known as “Yoruba Political Support Group (YPSG) has decorated one of their Sons, Chief Ogunsanya Bimbola Kehinde, the Immediate Past Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Special duties as the Patron of the Organisation.

The Presentation and decoration by the group’s leadership, Arc. Adedeji Osinowo and Convener took place at the State Secretariat along old Okigwe road, Owerri on Saturday 9th May, 2026 marked a public recognition of Chief Kehinde’s Status and Contributions to the Organisation’s growth.

HRH Oba Musibau Oladeji, the Oba Yoruba Community in Imo State who was the Special Guest of Honour at the event showered his traditional blessing as well as praying for God’s guidance on the Patron and the progress of the Organisation.

While fielding questions from the Press, Oba Musibau Oladeji recalled that Chief Kehinde was the former Secretary of the Organisation whom he handed over the position to, describing him as a humble and committed member who has served Yoruba Community in the State, Meritoriously.

He described the honour as well deserved because according to him, he (Kehinde) has been consistent, dedicated, loyal and sincere in the Affairs of the Community.
Oba Oladeji expressed happiness over the cordial relationship that exists between the Yoruba Community in the State and Igbo, saying that it is an age long Affairs.

According to him, as the head of Yoruba Community in Imo State, I married from here in the State, we do our Business here, we do Politics together here in the State and as a matter of fact, our host Community do not have any problem with us and we cooperate with them in every area of human endeavour.
“Yoruba and Igbo inter marry a lot, I can comfortably tell you that the relationship has been very cordial” he stressed.
He therefore advised the Community to always maintain peaceful co-existence in the State irrespective of culture or religious background, adding that it promotes unity, progress, and stability among the people.

Also speaking with the Press,Chief Bimbola Ogunsanya Kehinde expressed joy over the honour as the Patron of the Organisation, describing it as a further call to service.
He noted that Nigeria is one just as he called on Nigerians to come together as one country.

He said, ” I always advise Nigerians to always embrace peace and stay away from conflict because we are brothers and sisters. We should be our brother’s keeper. My tribe and religion are humanity, my faith is Christianity and that it is what I give”, he counselled
Some Yoruba Community Leaders present included Hon Alhaji bolaji yahaya supervising councilor on education social welfare and information Owerri Municipal local government Council, Alhaji Bola Oloru. Protocol officer to the Oba among others.
