Hon. Engr. Innocent Ikpamezie, the serving member of the Imo State House of Assembly representing Mbaitoli State Constituency, is on track for re-election in 2027 after securing overwhelming support from members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Mbaitoli Local Government Area (LGA).
Reports indicate that party supporters from all 12 INEC wards in Mbaitoli have openly declared their backing for Ikpamezie ahead of the Wednesday APC Primary Elections.
Local party members told journalists that Ikpamezie’s record in office has been excellent. They highlighted his consistent engagement with constituents, active participation in legislative duties, and involvement in community projects as reasons for their support.
“He has delivered on his promises and truly represents the voice of the people,” said one party member. “Mbaitoli deserves a leader who listens, acts, and brings development, and Hon. Ikpamezie has shown he is that leader.”
Residents praised his accessibility, noting that he has maintained open channels of communication with constituents, ensuring their concerns are addressed promptly. Several community leaders confirmed that his work in local infrastructure, youth programs, and education initiatives has improved life in Mbaitoli.
Political analysts observing the APC primaries in Imo State have noted that incumbents with strong grassroots support are often difficult to challenge. Ikpamezie’s wide acceptance across all wards gives him a clear advantage over any potential competitor.
Party insiders revealed that discussions within APC circles have focused on unity and continuity, with many members advocating for Ikpamezie as the candidate most capable of sustaining the party’s achievements in the constituency.
Ahead of the primaries, supporters expressed optimism, believing that a second term for Ikpamezie would allow ongoing projects and initiatives to continue, benefiting the people of Mbaitoli.
Observers also highlighted Ikpamezie’s ability to balance party politics and constituency needs, demonstrating political skill that positions him not only as a favorite for re-election but also as a respected voice in the State Assembly.
With the APC Primary Elections just days away, all eyes are on Mbaitoli as party members prepare to formalize their support for a lawmaker widely seen as dedicated, results-driven, and ready to continue shaping the future of the constituency.
