GENERAL COBRO WELCOMES UZODIMMA, UDENWA, OKOROCHA, IZUNASO, OMEOGO,UGOCHINYERE, DIBIAGWU, OTHERS TO 2026 ORA USA CONVENTION IN DALLAS

The Imo State Diaspora Ambassador, Hon. Engr. Emma Ihenacho, General Cobro, has extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, former Governors Chief Achike Udenwa grand patron of ORA USA and Senator Rochas Okorocha, Distinguished Senator Osita Izunaso, Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu, Hon. Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwu, Hon. Canice Moore Chukwugozie Nwachukwu (Omeogo),Hon. Harrison Nwadike. Representing Njaba, Nwangala, Isu and Nwkere federal constituency, Former state Hon Minister for Education Goodluck Nnah Opiah, Hon. Barr. Ralph Nwosu; Hon. Commissioner Comas Maduba; Hon. Commissioner Declan Emelumba; High Chief Eze Clatus Ilomanya, Eze Ndi Igbo, and other eminent sons and daughters of Orlu Zone to the 26th Annual National Convention of the Orlu Regional Assembly USA (ORA USA), scheduled to hold from June 23 to 28, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, United States of America.

Engr. Emma Ihenacho, a respected political consultant, technology expert based in San Francisco California and an advocate of good governance and development, described the convention as a unique platform that continues to unite Ndi Orlu people and imoliites across continents while promoting cultural heritage, technology , economic empowerment, and sustainable development initiatives for the benefit of Umu Orlu and Imoliites in diaspora.

In his goodwill message, General Cobro commended the leadership of ORA USA under the leadership of the National President, Prince Charles U. Duru, her members and the organising committee for their commitment to sustaining the vision of the organisation and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood among Orlu people in the Diaspora.

He noted that this year’s convention, themed “ORA USA Impacting Lives Positively: Healthcare, Education, Microfinance and Youth Empowerment,” underscores the organisation’s dedication to improving the lives of its people through strategic interventions and community-driven development programmes.

The Imo Diaspora Ambassador also welcomed other dignitaries from Imo state which include Chief Charles Orie,
Dr. Bâtos Nwadike, Chief Ben Uchenna Odunze, (NDC senator candidate for orlu), Chief Okey Ikoro, Chief Onwuzurike a renowned political leader and development strategist, traditional rulers, serving and former commissioners, political appointees, captains of industry; professionals, clergy, youth leaders; women leaders, and all illustrious sons and daughters of Orlu Zone residing across the United States and around the world.

He further paid tribute to the pioneers and past leaders of ORA USA whose vision and sacrifices laid the foundation for the organisation’s growth and success. He specifically recognised former National Presidents of the association, Founder Nze Gibson Chigbu, Chief Emeka Iwunze, Chief Chris Onwuzurike, and Chief Sir Fidelis Ezewike, Engr. Chief Tony Okwara, Dr Uzoh for their outstanding contributions to the development and expansion of ORA USA over the years.

General Cobro noted that the convention is expected to attract hundreds of delegates and distinguished guests from various affiliate chapters and cities across the United States, including Dallas, Houston, Chicago, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Detroit, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Louisiana, Los Angeles, South Florida, Austin, San Francisco and across all the 50 States in US where Orlu sons and daughters have established vibrant communities and helping to advance the Igbo cultures in united State of America.

According to him, the event will also witness the participation of Orlu indigenes and friends of Orlu nation travelling from different parts of North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and other regions of the world, making the convention a truly global gathering of the Orlu people.

He stated that the convention would provide a valuable opportunity for networking, cultural exchange, strategic dialogue, investment promotion, youth development, educational advancement, healthcare initiatives, and stronger partnerships between the homeland and the Diaspora community.

Engr. Ihenacho therefore called on all sons and daughters of Orlu Zone, friends of Imo State, development partners, and well-wishers from across the world to be part of the historic convention in Dallas as the people of Orlu once again come together to celebrate their shared heritage and chart a collective path towards progress and prosperity.

Activities lined up for the convention include registration, city tours, youth concert, convention proceedings, cultural night, women meet and greet, town hall meetings, youth engagement sessions, inter governmental conversation between Ndi Orlu in diaspora and Imo government, gala night, fundraising activities, and other social and developmental programmes designed to deepen unity among members.

ORA USA is a non-profit organisation and is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of the United States. Over the years, the organisation has remained a formidable platform dedicated to promoting the welfare, unity, cultural heritage, and development aspirations of the people of Orlu Zone and exchanging their cultures, providing professional services in America.

As anticipation builds towards the convention, Engr.Ambassador Emma Ihenacho ( General Cobro) expressed confidence that the gathering would further strengthen the spirit of unity among Orlu people worldwide and inspire renewed commitment towards the growth, prosperity, of the host country USA and sustainable development of Orlu Zone and Imo State, Nigeria.
