The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control has issued a public health warning advising Nigerians to avoid Indomie Vegetable Flavour instant noodles following concerns related to food safety.
The agency explained that the alert is linked to a recall notice issued by a French food safety authority, which indicated that the affected product contains milk and eggs that were not declared on the product label. This omission may pose health risks, especially to people who have allergies or food sensitivities.
According to NAFDAC, the recall affects all batches of the Indomie Vegetable Flavour noodles with a best before date of February 6, 2026. The agency noted that consuming food products with undeclared allergens can lead to adverse reactions, ranging from mild discomfort to more serious health complications in sensitive individuals.
NAFDAC has advised members of the public to refrain from buying, selling, or consuming the affected noodles. Consumers who already have the product are encouraged to dispose of it properly to prevent possible health issues.
The agency also stated that its officers across the country have been directed to monitor markets and shops to ensure that the recalled product is removed from circulation. Nigerians were urged to report any sightings of the affected noodles or any health issues experienced after consumption to the nearest NAFDAC office.
NAFDAC encouraged consumers to remain alert, check product information carefully, and pay attention to official safety notices issued by regulatory authorities.
