The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly dismissed reports alleging that its leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, is secretly working with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a strongly worded statement, the party described the allegations as “baseless propaganda” designed to weaken the opposition and mislead Nigerians.
The NDC insisted that Senator Dickson remains firmly committed to defending democracy, promoting good governance, and building a credible alternative for Nigerians dissatisfied with the current administration.
According to the party, attempts to link the former Bayelsa governor with the APC are part of a calculated political smear campaign aimed at creating confusion within opposition ranks ahead of the next election cycle.
“The NDC is not for sale, and Senator Dickson is not aligned with the APC agenda,” the statement declared.
The party urged Nigerians and its supporters nationwide to ignore what it called “desperate political rumours,” reaffirming its determination to remain independent, vocal, and focused on delivering a stronger democratic future for the country.
