Commendations As Imo NOA Chairman, Patrick Iwuchukwu, Bags Prestigious ICAD Fellowship

It was a moment of excitement and commendation in Imo State as the Chairman of the Nigerian Optometric Association (NOA), Imo State Chapter, Dr. Patrick Iwuchukwu, was inducted as a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration (ICAD).

The prestigious induction ceremony took place during the Institute’s Quarterly Summit, Colloquium and Induction Programme held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Owerri, attracting dignitaries, professionals, and distinguished personalities from within and outside the state.

Dr. Iwuchukwu’s conferment with the fellowship has been widely described as recognition of his outstanding contributions to healthcare administration, professional development, and quality service delivery in Imo State.

In his remarks, the facilitator, Dr. Chika Lawrence Opara, explained that the summit and induction ceremony were organised to equip members and fellows with contemporary leadership and managerial skills necessary for addressing emerging challenges in their various organisations.

He further stated that ICAD has distinguished itself as a reputable professional body dedicated to advancing excellence in leadership, management, and administration through specialized capacity-building programmes for individuals occupying strategic positions in both the public and private sectors.

According to him, the inductees are accomplished professionals whose dedication, competence, and contributions in their respective fields earned them the honour. He added that the fellowship would further empower them to contribute meaningfully to institutional growth and societal development.

Speaking on the theme, “Developing Organizational Resilience for Managing in Uncertain Times,” the guest lecturer, Comrade Okey Nwuru, underscored the need for adaptability, innovation, and resilient leadership in navigating challenges posed by rapid technological changes and increasing global uncertainties.

“With the changing realities across the world, leaders must remain dynamic, creative, and proactive in responding to emerging trends. Developing resilience and managerial competence is strategic for sustainable growth and progress,” Nwuru stated.

Fielding questions from journalists after his induction, Dr. Iwuchukwu expressed gratitude to the management of ICAD for the recognition, describing the fellowship as both impactful and motivating.

Dr. Iwuchukwu, who is also the Head of the Standards and Quality Assurance Department of the Imo State Health Insurance Agency (IMSHIA), stated that the programme was enriching and would further strengthen his commitment to professionalism, excellence, and effective service delivery.

“This honour is a great source of inspiration to me. Learning remains a continuous process, especially in a fast-changing world where leaders are expected to adapt and innovate. I sincerely appreciate ICAD for finding me worthy of this prestigious fellowship,” he said.

Other notable inductees at the event included the Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Imo State Council, Comrade Ibe Great Uchenna; the Chief Medical Director of Imo State Specialist Hospital, Umuguma, Dr. Chima Oparaji; the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Imo State Chapter, Comrade Uche Chigemezu; and the Commander, Nigerian Air Force, Imo State Command, Air Commodore Sekibo, among others.
