The political atmosphere in Mbaitoli and Ikeduru Federal Constituency has received a major boost following the emergence of prominent businessman and philanthropist, Chief Dennis Ejikeme Okwu, popularly known as “Sweet Apple,” as the Action People’s Party (APP) candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Chief Okwu secured the party’s ticket during the APP primary election held on Friday, May 22, 2026, positioning himself as one of the leading contenders for the highly anticipated National Assembly race.
His emergence has continued to generate excitement among supporters and political stakeholders across the Mbaike axis, with many describing him as a grassroots politician with strong community connections and a passion for development.
Speaking shortly after the primary election, Chief Okwu expressed gratitude to party members for the confidence reposed in him.
He described the victory as a mandate to serve the people and provide purposeful representation capable of addressing the needs of the constituency.
According to him, Mbaitoli and Ikeduru deserve quality leadership that will attract development projects, create opportunities for youths, and improve the living conditions of ordinary citizens.
