President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid glowing tribute to Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, as he marks his 92nd birthday, describing the literary icon as an enduring symbol of courage, integrity, and a strong voice for good governance and justice.
In a heartfelt goodwill message, the President praised Soyinka’s lifelong commitment to truth, democracy, and the defence of human rights, saying his contributions have left a lasting mark on Nigeria, Africa, and the international community.
Tinubu said the Nobel Laureate has consistently stood on the side of justice, using his intellect, literary works, and public engagements to challenge oppression, promote accountability, and inspire generations of Nigerians.
According to the President, Professor Soyinka’s influence extends far beyond literature, noting that his courage in speaking truth to power and his commitment to democratic ideals have made him one of Nigeria’s most respected voices.

He also praised the businessman’s philanthropic efforts and support for initiatives that empower young people and strengthen communities across the country.
