The people of Ohaji/ Egbema have reaffirmed their full support to the chairmanship aspiration of Hon. Prince Lemachi Stephen Nzeribe in the 21st September 2024 Imo State LG Elections.
The people of the oil rich region who gathered at Cliff Resort Suite & Hotel, Umuapu, Ohaji, on Sunday, agreed that Lemachi is going to be the next Executive Chairman of Ohaji/Egbema, because he has all it takes to render democratic governance to the people to reduce poverty, suffering.
They maintained that the resolution unanimously arrived at – endorsing Awarra Court Area to produce Chairman of the Council in 2024 – stands – as it is geared to balancing political equity in the locality.
In his opening remarks at the gathering which mainly comprised of members of Olileanya Ndi Ohaji/Egbema (a political campaign group for Lemachi), a popular politician in the area, Hon. Kenneth Ekwueme (Degree), said Lemachi is very fit and worthy to become Executive Chairman of Ohaji/Egbema Council because he is a good person who has the “interest of the people at heart and we will stop at nothing to elect him”.
“The cream la cream of Ohaji/Egbema have gladly gathered to affirm their support to Lemachi, who is contesting for Ohaji/Egbema Executive Chairman. Power has indeed shifted to the people. Hence, I urge the people to fully campaign for Lemachi as he is qualified even socially, academically and economically for the task. He is prepared for the contest. Do not be afraid while supporting him because he is going to win the election to change the narrative. Cue behind him during the primaries”, Degree said.
Calling for upholding the ceding the Ohaji/Egbema Council Seat to Awarra Court Area, a notable politician, Hon. Golden Nwokoma, urged all indigenes of the area to collectively rally round Lemachi to enable him succeed as to strengthen goodness and progress of the locality.
“A meeting of Ohaji/ Egbema leaders was called at Chief Charles Orie’s house recently where it was decided that Awarra Court Area be allowed to produce Ohaji/Egbema Executive Chairman to balance political equity in the locality. This is the right thing to be done.
“But it was disheartening that another meeting was called and thwarted the zoning arrangement, but that ugly decision is not our burden because the collective decision of the leaders of the locality overrides those of the opposing groups”, Nwokoma stated.
With Hon. Chris Ariaga, a popular figure from Egbema enclave, telling the people to vote and protect their vote for Olileanya Ndi Ohaji/ Egbema.
“I’m impressed with what I see in Lemachi. He has the political capacity to viably redefine democratic governance in the area. So, I appeal to the people to vote and protect their vote for Olileanya Ndi Ohaji/ Egbema because he will do wonders if he goes to the Council”, Ariaga posited.
Reassuring the aspirant of the solid support of youths of Ohaji/Egbema, President of National Congress of Ohaji Youths (NACOY), Hon. Tochi Nwosu, disclosed that youths are rallying round Lemachi because he is a vibrant youth who he believes is going to do well for the people especially youths”.
According to the NACOY President, “we are here because Lemachi is a vibrant youth and NACOY has been yearning for good leadership and Youth O’clock (youths being in power). He has undiluted interest to the good of the people. And we thank him greatly for heeding the call by his people to serve them in that capacity”.
Describing Lemachi as a charitable human, the initiator of Olileanya Ndi Ohaji/Egbema Support Campaign Group for Lemachi 2024, Solomon Ogbuehi, emphasized that Ohaji/Egbema will witness democratic leadership when Lemachi becomes Chairman.
One of the leading voices in Olileanya Ndi Ohaji/ Egbema campaign group and a known journalist, Pastor Emeka Nwulu, charged the Coordinators to preach the goodness of Lemachi to the people to fully internalize his capacity for redemption and edification of the locality.
Promising the people of Ohaji/Egbema fair and quality leadership if he is elected Executive Chairman, Hon. Prince Lemachi Stephen Nzeribe, thanked the people for showing deep love and concern to his aspiration, assuring he will not disappoint them.
The highlight of the political gathering was the inauguration of Olileanya Ndi Ohaji/ Egbema LGA and Wards Coordinators.
