The indigenes of Nnaheze Autonomous Community in Umueze II/Umueleke Ward in Ehime Mbano Council Area of Imo State gathered at their Community Civic Center on August 22, 2024, to celebrate their maiden Igbu Awii cum Iri-ji festival. This milestone event marked a significant moment in the community’s history, honoring their rich cultural heritage and traditions passed down from their forefathers.
Livy Njoku, the moderator/Facilitator commended His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma of Imo State for supporting community growth, which enhances positive impacts on rural development. The festival featured a colorful display of regalia and fireworks, attracting sons and daughters from around the world.
Chief Obi Amobi, a guest from Nkumeato, praised the community for reviving their cultural heritage and expressed happiness over their newly built Civic Hall.
Sir Don Ekeigwe, the main organizer, thanked God and recognized the contributions of esteemed individuals, including Eze Elect Prof. B. I. Oke, Prince Oke,(Prince Nnaheze) Hon. Justice A. Ononeze-Madu, and others.

In his concluding speech, Sir Dom Ekeigwe assured that the community would continue to innovate, introducing initiatives like cultural cloth-wearing(Iwa Akwa)to inspire the youths to strive for excellence in education, industrialization, and entrepreneurship.
