Chief Amb. Chucks Ajaelu, a prominent stakeholder of the People’s Democratic party, PDP, in Imo State, has urged members of the party to support without reservations the new Acting Chairman of the party in the state, Sir Chidi Dike to succeed in the task before him, adding that the party is now better repositioned for exploits with the leadership change.

Ajaelu, a political leader from Ihitte-Uboma LGA was reacting on Tuesday at the party’s state secretariat along Okigwe Road, Owerri, while interacting with newsmen on the emergence of Sir Dike as the new Imo State PDP Boss, following a High Court Order that ousted the former chairman Engr Charles Ugwu recently. He described it as a new positive beginning for the state chapter of the party.

The former Deputy Director, Volunteer Groups, SamJones/PDP Campaign Organization, maintained that PDP as a large family would continue to move forward despite occasional changes in leadership, alluding that such were reflections of continuity and the need to strategise in order to achieve uptimum performance in electoral contests.

He further expressed confidence in the ability of Sir Dike’s leadership to steer the affairs of the party effectively, describing him as a focused, energetic and results-oriented leader who would discharge his functions creditably. He used the occasion to plead with the party faithful to be steadfast in their loyalty for the party in order to achieve collective results.

His words: “It is continuity. PDP is a large family. This is to show that the foundations of PDP are still strong, and also indicating that when one steps out, other people are there to fill up that gap and be able to discharge the same function well.

“Absolutely, I have all the regards and trust that our Acting Chairman, Sir Chidi Dike is going to discharge the functions of the office effectively and know that he is going to shepherd us in the next congress. He has a lot of work to do and as he said, it is a collective support that we are going to give to him to make sure that the job is easier for him.

“So, I have no doubt that PDP is still strong in Imo State. And I urge all the members of the party in the state to support our new chairman to succeed and to be steadfast in their loyalty to our great party, the PDP because we are going to the government house,” Ajaelu, averred.
