Today, July 20, 2024, at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Headquarters in Ubommiri, Hon. Collins Ugorji formally announced his candidacy for the chairmanship of Mbaitoli Local Government Area in Imo State, with the election slated for September 2024. This declaration followed his submission of the nomination form at the APC Headquarters in Owerri.
Speaking to journalists, Ugorji highlighted his primary goal of fostering peace among rival factions within the party and ensuring harmony in the community. “My focus is to bring peace among the parties, ensuring harmony and peace reign in our locality,” he stated.

In his address, Ugorji promised to rejuvenate agricultural projects, enhance youth empowerment programs, and secure agricultural grants for rural areas in Mbaitoli. “I am committed to revamping our agricultural sector and providing our youth with the necessary tools and opportunities to thrive,” he said.
