The Special Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC South East chapter,Hon. Dr Stanley Chinedu Nwachukwu has extolled the President and Commander -in-Chief of the Federal of Nigeria,His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing into law the bill establishing South East Development Commission.
Speaking to newsmen on Thursday 25th July,2024 in Owerri, the capital city of Imo State,Dr. Nwachukwu expressed optimism that the newly established Commission will enhance rapid development in the entire five states.
He commended those who sponsored the bill, noting that the passage of the bill is coming at the right time,the people of southeast are lamenting over poor development.
The South East leader of Persons with disabilities insisted that the Commission will enhance grassroots development and improve skills and man-power of both abled and disabled communities.
“South East Development Commission will take care of less privileged and physically challenged persons as well as taking care of infrastructural development of the Zone.
This is a welcome development,and I am urging my people to utilize the advantage of the Commission to embrace peace”,he pleaded.
The Orlu-Imo State -born entrepreneur disassociated persons with disabilities with the looming nationwide protest, noting that they are peace loving people.
“What we need is lasting solutions to re-awake our economy. No doubt, His Excellency, Present Bola Ahmed Tinubu met Nigeria in bad condition, and he can’t do magic over night. After all,he just brought local governments financial autonomy that would soon drive dividends of democracy to the grassroots. We stand for peace, and we must embrace peace in our zone.
So,we are not part of the looming nationwide protest “,he declared.
