Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has revealed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will adopt a harmonization and consensus strategy for the upcoming Local Government elections in the state. This announcement was made on August 27, 2024, during a gathering of APC faithful at the party’s Secretariat in Owerri.
In his address, Governor Uzodimma emphasized the significance of unity within the party as a critical factor for success in the forthcoming polls. He highlighted that adopting a consensus approach would help mitigate internal disputes, streamline the candidate selection process, and strengthen the party’s position ahead of the elections.
“We must prioritize harmony within our ranks to present a united front. By embracing consensus, we avoid the pitfalls of internal conflicts that could weaken our chances at the polls,” Uzodimma stated.
The Governor also reassured party members that the consensus process would be inclusive and transparent, ensuring that all stakeholders have a voice in the decision-making process. He urged party leaders and members to support this initiative, stressing that it is the best path forward for the APC in the state.
Uzodimma’s announcement comes at a crucial time as the party prepares for what is expected to be a competitive Local Government election. By promoting a unified approach, the Governor aims to solidify the APC’s dominance in Imo State and enhance its chances of victory at the grassroots level.
