In the latest disbursement of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) funds for June 2025, the 27 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Imo State have received their respective allocations.

According to official figures, Mbaitoli Local Government emerged as the top recipient, receiving a total of ₦529 million — the highest allocation among all LGAs in the state. This significant funding is expected to boost infrastructural development, enhance social services, and support ongoing community projects within the area.

On the other end of the scale, Oru East Local Government Area received the lowest allocation, though the exact figure has not been disclosed in the preliminary report. Stakeholders have expressed concern over the disparities in distribution, noting that each LGA has unique developmental needs that require adequate funding.

The FAAC allocation, sourced from the federal government’s revenue pool, is shared monthly among the federal, state, and local governments to support governance and service delivery. For Imo State, these funds play a crucial role in financing projects, paying workers’ salaries, and driving grassroots development.

Officials urge the council chairmen to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of these funds, emphasizing that the allocations should directly impact the lives of residents in each local government.
