Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has approved the payment of a 13th-month salary to all civil servants in the state, marking the fifth consecutive year the bonus has been paid under his administration.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment, Prince Eze Ugochukwu. The statement explained that the payment reflects the government’s commitment to workers’ welfare, policy consistency, and responsible governance.

Governor Uzodimma described the 13th-month salary as a permanent state policy, noting that it has played a key role in boosting morale, improving productivity, and supporting the state’s economic growth. He stated that consistent implementation of policies is essential for sustainable development and long-term progress.

The governor said the initiative is not aimed at seeking praise for the government but at appreciating the dedication and hard work of Imo civil servants. He assured workers that the administration remains committed to transparency, accountability, and quality governance.

Uzodimma explained that linking workers’ welfare to stable economic policies helps create an environment that encourages efficiency and development. He stated that the government will continue to maintain high governance standards while prioritizing the needs of the people.

The Imo State Government described the sustained payment of the bonus as evidence of sound fiscal management and a strategy to motivate public servants. The policy aligns with the state’s broader economic development agenda and assures workers of the government’s long-term commitment to their welfare.
