Owerri, the capital city of Imo State, witnessed a remarkable development milestone as the NASENI Skills Acquisition Centre was officially commissioned by the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Sen. Hope Uzodimma.

The commissioning of the centre marks the completion of a major empowerment project powered by the Senator representing Owerri Zone (Imo East Senatorial District), Sen. Ezenwa F. Onyewuchi, with the aim of providing opportunities for skills development, entrepreneurship, and capacity building among the people.
The event brought together government officials, political leaders, community representatives, traditional leaders, stakeholders, and residents who gathered to celebrate the establishment of a facility expected to impact lives and support economic growth.
The NASENI Skills Acquisition Centre was designed to provide a platform where individuals, especially youths, can gain practical knowledge and technical skills that will enable them to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to society.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Gov. Hope Uzodimma applauded the initiative and described it as a valuable contribution towards strengthening skills development and creating opportunities for the people of Imo State.
The governor emphasized the importance of equipping citizens with relevant skills that can improve their livelihoods, encourage innovation, and support the growth of small and medium-scale enterprises.
The centre is expected to provide training in various areas of skills acquisition, helping beneficiaries develop abilities that align with modern economic demands and preparing them for opportunities within and outside the state.
Sen. Ezenwa F. Onyewuchi, who powered the project, stated that the initiative was driven by the desire to provide practical solutions that address the needs of the people and create avenues for personal and community advancement.
The project reflects the senator’s focus on empowering constituents through programmes that promote education, skills development, entrepreneurship, and economic participation.

Beyond providing training facilities, the NASENI Skills Acquisition Centre will serve as a place where talents can be discovered, ideas can be developed, and individuals can receive the support needed to turn their skills into productive ventures.
Community members and stakeholders welcomed the project, noting that the centre will provide valuable opportunities for young people and other residents seeking to improve their skills and pursue sustainable means of livelihood.
The establishment of the centre is expected to contribute to reducing unemployment by encouraging individuals to acquire practical skills that can help them create employment opportunities for themselves and others.
The commissioning also highlights the importance of collaboration between political representatives and government institutions in delivering projects that directly affect the lives of citizens.

With the NASENI Skills Acquisition Centre now fully commissioned, Owerri Zone has gained an important facility that will support human capacity development and provide a foundation for innovation and enterprise.
The project stands as a symbol of the impact that people-focused leadership can make when attention is given to empowerment, skills training, and sustainable development.
