In a bold move to defend the credibility of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) election, President-elect Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya (SAN) has declared that she will resign from office if credible evidence proves that the election was rigged in her favour.
Badejo-Okusanya made the commitment while addressing concerns raised by some stakeholders over the outcome of the NBA presidential election. She maintained that she has confidence in the integrity of the electoral process and welcomed any transparent review that would put the matter beyond doubt.
According to the incoming NBA president, the election was conducted through an electronic voting system that was closely monitored, adding that the process was designed to promote transparency, accountability, and fairness among members of the association.
She explained that she did not observe any pattern of irregularities capable of affecting the final outcome, noting that the voting trend was consistent throughout the exercise.
