President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has strongly condemned the gruesome attack on Naridon Village in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where about 30 residents were reportedly killed in a violent assault that has left the community in grief.
The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, saw heavily armed assailants storm the village, killing men, women and children, while setting several homes ablaze. Survivors were left devastated as families mourned the loss of loved ones and many residents fled the community in search of safety.
Describing the incident as barbaric and unacceptable, President Tinubu expressed profound sadness over the tragic loss of innocent lives and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the Kaduna State Government and the entire people of the affected community.
The President assured Nigerians that the perpetrators of the heinous crime would not escape justice. He directed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to immediately intensify operations to track down those responsible and ensure they are brought before the law.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians, stressing that no criminal group or individual would be allowed to threaten the peace and stability of any part of the country.
He also urged security agencies to strengthen surveillance and intelligence gathering in vulnerable communities to prevent further attacks, while calling on residents to cooperate with law enforcement authorities by providing credible information that could aid ongoing investigations.
The President further appealed for calm among residents, assuring them that the Federal Government would continue working closely with the Kaduna State Government to restore normalcy and enhance security in the affected area.
Meanwhile, humanitarian concerns have continued to grow following the attack, as many families have been displaced after their homes were destroyed by fire. Community leaders have called for urgent relief materials and increased security presence to enable residents to return to their normal lives.
The latest tragedy has once again highlighted the persistent security challenges confronting some communities in Kaduna State, with stakeholders urging sustained efforts to tackle banditry and other violent crimes across the region.
As security operatives intensify the manhunt for the attackers, many Nigerians have expressed hope that those behind the massacre will be swiftly apprehended and prosecuted, while renewed efforts are made to prevent similar attacks in the future.
