The South-East All Progressives Congress (APC) Special Leader for Persons With Disabilities, Hon. Dr. Stanley Chinedu Nwachukwu, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as his commitment to democratic principles and the peaceful conduct of the recently concluded Osun State governorship election.
Hon. Nwachukwu, in a statement issued after the election, said the conduct of the poll demonstrated the resilience of Nigeria’s democratic institutions and the Federal Government’s commitment to allowing citizens to freely exercise their constitutional right to choose their leaders.
According to him, democracy thrives when electoral processes are conducted in an atmosphere of peace, transparency and respect for the will of the electorate.
He particularly praised President Tinubu for providing an enabling environment for democratic institutions to operate, stressing that the credibility of Nigeria’s electoral system remains essential to strengthening public confidence in governance.
The APC chieftain also called on political leaders and supporters across the country to embrace sportsmanship before, during and after elections, noting that political contests should not become a source of division or violence.
Hon. Nwachukwu said the Osun election should serve as another reminder that political differences can be resolved through the ballot box and within the framework of the law.
He urged Nigerians, particularly members and supporters of the APC, to continue supporting democratic values while respecting the rights and choices of other citizens.
The South-East APC Special Leader further congratulated the people of Osun State for participating in the electoral process, urging all stakeholders to place the peace, unity and development of the State above partisan interests.
He maintained that Nigeria’s democracy can only grow stronger when leaders and citizens alike uphold the rule of law, respect electoral outcomes and pursue political differences through legitimate democratic channels.
The ruling party chieftain urged south easterners to get their PVCs and prepare to vote wisely in 2027 general elections.
