The Executive Chairman of Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State, Hon. Friday Ibekaeme, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will record a sweeping victory across the State in the 2027 general elections.

Ibekaeme made the prediction on Monday, September 14, 2026, while speaking with newsmen at the inauguration of the APC Campaign Council held at the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre, Owerri.

The Orsu Council Chairman said the prevailing political atmosphere in Imo State indicated strong support for the ruling APC, expressing optimism that the party would emerge victorious in elections ranging from the State House of Assembly to the presidential poll.

According to him, the APC has continued to strengthen its political structures and grassroots presence across the state, adding that the party’s campaign machinery would be effectively mobilised ahead of the 2027 elections.

Ibekaeme maintained that the achievements of the administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma would remain a major factor in the party’s electoral fortunes, particularly across the Orlu Senatorial District.

He declared that the people of Orlu Zone would overwhelmingly support the governor, who is expected to contest for the Orlu Senatorial District seat in 2027.
“No doubt, Governor Hope Uzodimma will win Orlu Senatorial District,” Ibekaeme stated confidently.

The council chairman further expressed confidence that APC candidates would perform strongly at all levels of the 2027 elections, attributing the expected victory to what he described as the party’s organisational strength, grassroots mobilisation and the confidence of supporters in its leadership.

He called on APC members and supporters in Orsu and across Imo State to remain united and committed to the party, stressing that victory at the polls would require sustained mobilisation and cooperation among party stakeholders.

Ibekaeme also urged party faithful to work collectively in taking the APC’s campaign message to the grassroots, particularly the electorate in rural communities, wards and polling units.
He noted that the inauguration of the Campaign Council marked another important step in preparing the party for the 2027 electoral contest, urging members of the council to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and discipline.

The Orsu chairman reaffirmed his commitment to supporting efforts aimed at ensuring the success of the APC in the local government and across the state.
He said the party would continue to engage the people and highlight its programmes, policies and achievements as part of efforts to consolidate its support base ahead of the general elections.
The inauguration of the APC Campaign Council attracted party leaders, government officials, supporters and stakeholders from across the state, signalling the commencement of intensified political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

With the 2027 elections gradually drawing closer, Ibekaeme’s prediction adds to growing political activities within the APC in Imo State, particularly as party leaders continue to strengthen their structures and mobilise supporters across the state’s three senatorial districts.
