….. Barr. Ihezuo & pastor Mbarie Need Love as APC Leaders
….Prince Akajiugo Advises

By Onuchukwu Hamilton

Following the expired tenure of the elected Imo local Government Council administration that assumed office on the 30th of September 2024, the letters of appreciation sent to the Imo State Governor, the APC Party Secretariate and the good people of Orlu LGA, by their immediate past Council Chairman, Hon pastor Chris Mbarie, have stirred up emotional wrinkles as his crowd of admirers in Orlu LGA are now celebrating him as the best Chairman, in conduct, character and achievements while Prince Akajiugo advocates for a well united APC in Orlu LGA.
In the light of sending series of commendation comments over Pastor Mbarie’s achievements that were equally rated as the best by the Orlu Zonal Practicing journalists, his uncompleted landmark projects and other rare administrative ingenuity are said to have compelled the people of Orlu LGA to galvanize for his re-election as the Executive Chairman while on the other side, a very formidable group, known as the Orlu Diaspora Elites Assembly (ODEA) have unfortunately described the election that brought the serving Orlu legislator, Barr. Ikenna Ihezuo into the Imo State House of Assembly, as the worst political accidental discharge in the Political archive of the South East but on the alter of peace and progress, a famous politician and philanthropist that keenly contested the APC Federal House Primaries in Orlu LGA, Prince Joseph Okwara (Akajiugo of Umuna) has preached for peace, love and unity among the supporters of Pastor Chris Mbarie and Barr. Ikenna Ihezuo , citing the fact that no Party Organization can defeat the opposition in a rancorous atmosphere. In his words ” APC members in Orlu are made to cooperate, like feet, like hands, like the rows of the upper and lower teeth. ” Hate can not drive away hate; only love can do that”. Akajiugo warns that any attack to one APC member in an assigned public office, is an indirect attack to his Principal and the APC hierarchy at the State and local government levels. He therefore advocates for a well united APC in Orlu LGA ,especially now that the 2027 general elections lurk behind.
News men noticed that this bash on Barr Ihezuo, is not unconnected with a recent media Publication where the lawmaker queried the past administration of Hon. Pastor Mbarie
The ODEA group President, Chief Dr. Okolie Anderson stated that Barr. Ihezuo should explain why he waited till the end of the local government council tenure before bringing the Orlu Local Council matters to the public. That Barr. Ihezuo in a vendetta approach, decided to unleash attack on Pastor Chris Mbarie because he, Ihezuo may have reportedly felt that pastor Mbarie may have worked against his interest to return to the Imo State House of Assembly for a second tenure in 2027. “Therefore draws a battle line to stop Pastor Mbarie’s second tenure demand by Orlu people.
This late and sudden interest in the Orlu Council affairs depicts an act of malfeasance and nonfeasance on the side of the serving House of Assembly member ( failure to act when it was necessary) .
According to Dr. Anderson, the people of Orlu refused to return Barr. Ihezuo Ikenna because, he failed them in the areas of lawmaking, representation, oversight functions, and financial control( appropriation). The Orlu formidable group President, went ahead, to describe the tenure of Barr. Ihezuo as lacking in basic competence, a tenure that is characterized with a gross violation of social contract, a legislative tenure that has caused severe political injury in Orlu LGA , a tenure that inflicted political disability, political nerve damages and psychological trauma to the field of political sciences in Orlu LGA.
Meanwhile, in compliance to the Governor’s earlier instruction that, the immediate past 27 Local Government Council Chairmen should hand ove to the Directors of Administration and General Services ( DAGS), the Local Government Council Chairman for Orlu LGA, Pastor Mbarie, has on the 5th of October, submitted the council properties to the DAGS
