Two people have lost their lives following a tragic road crash in Ogun State, authorities have confirmed.

The fatal accident occurred along a major roadway in the state and involved multiple vehicles. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash to rescue victims and clear the road.

According to eyewitnesses, the collision caused severe damage to the vehicles involved, leaving two occupants dead. Other injured victims were rescued and taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) who responded to the incident confirmed the deaths and said preliminary findings indicate that excessive speed and possible traffic violations may have contributed to the crash. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident.

The bodies of the deceased were recovered from the scene and deposited at a morgue, while efforts were made to restore the free flow of traffic after the wreckage was cleared.

The FRSC has once again appealed to motorists to obey traffic regulations, avoid speeding, and ensure their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on journeys. The agency stressed that responsible driving remains one of the most effective ways to reduce road crashes and save lives.

Road accidents continue to pose a major safety challenge on Nigerian highways, with authorities urging all road users to exercise caution and prioritize safety at all times.
