Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election and thanked him for reaffirming his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in 2027.

Keyamo, in a message shared on Sunday, described Adeleke as a “man of integrity and honour”, while appreciating what he called the governor’s public and unequivocal endorsement of Tinubu.

The minister concluded his message with the striking phrase, “Agreement is agreement,” a remark that has immediately attracted attention within Nigeria’s political circles.

Adeleke had renewed his support for Tinubu while delivering his victory speech after being declared winner of the August 15 Osun governorship election.

In his address, the governor thanked President Tinubu for what he described as strong support for a free and fair electoral process in Osun.

Adeleke also described Tinubu as “a son of Osun State” before reaffirming his earlier endorsement of the President for another term in office in 2027.

The governor’s statement has added an interesting political dimension to his re-election victory, coming at a time when attention is increasingly turning towards the 2027 presidential contest.

Adeleke secured 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who polled 444,815 votes, according to the results announced by the electoral commission.

Following the declaration, congratulatory messages have continued to pour in for the Osun governor from political leaders across the country.

Keyamo’s reaction, however, stood out because it went beyond congratulating Adeleke on his electoral victory. The minister specifically acknowledged the governor’s renewed support for Tinubu’s 2027 ambition.

The comment has also generated interest because Adeleke contested the Osun governorship election under the Accord Party, making his continued backing of Tinubu a notable development in the evolving political landscape.

For supporters of the President, the endorsement could be seen as another indication of the growing political conversations surrounding Tinubu’s potential second-term bid.

For Adeleke, the immediate challenge will be to translate his renewed mandate into effective governance and deliver on the expectations of Osun residents.

His victory has given him another opportunity to consolidate his administration’s policies while also navigating the wider political dynamics ahead of the 2027 elections.

Keyamo’s brief but pointed message has therefore added a fresh twist to the celebrations surrounding Adeleke’s re-election.

With the minister declaring that “agreement is agreement,” political observers are likely to continue watching the relationship between Adeleke and the Tinubu administration closely as Nigeria moves towards another major electoral cycle.
