JOS TO SHAKE ON SATURDAY AS RHGN HOLDS TINUBU 2027 CAMPAIGN FLAGOFF

The Renewed Hope for Greater Nigeria (RHGN), the foremost pro-Tinubu re-election support group, is set to flag off its national campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid this Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Jos, Plateau State. The event doubles as the formal inauguration of the state’s RHGN Executive Council and Local Government Coordinators.

The ceremony, scheduled to begin at 10:00am, will serve as the latest in a series of state-level structures being rolled out nationwide by RHGN, which is led by its National Leader and Convener, Hon. Calistus Anyanwu. The group has in recent months completed similar organisational rollouts in the Southeast and other zones, describing its approach as building support “from the ward up” rather than through press releases alone.

Serving as Chief Host for the occasion is Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwada, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), whose presence underscores the alignment between RHGN’s grassroots mobilisation drive and the party’s official re-election machinery ahead of 2027.

RHGN has positioned itself as distinct from other pro-Tinubu groups by focusing its messaging on the administration’s policy record rather than campaign rhetoric alone. Anyanwu has previously cited the removal of the fuel subsidy, unification of the foreign exchange market, the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), ongoing tax reforms, and direct allocation remittances to local governments as achievements the group intends to showcase to Nigerians ahead of the polls.

Organisers say Saturday’s Plateau inauguration will formally activate ward- and local-government-level structures across the state, mirroring the model already deployed in the Southeast, where the group has announced plans for a “Booth Army” at polling units to mobilise voters. The Plateau rollout is expected to similarly position the chapter to coordinate community-level outreach in the Middle Belt state ahead of election season.

The ceremony carries the theme of unity and grassroots empowerment, with the group’s Plateau chapter adopting the rallying message “Together, We Can Do More” and pledging commitments around unity of purpose, service to the people, and development across the state.

With the flag-off, RHGN’s Plateau structure joins a growing list of state chapters the group has stood up nationwide as part of its stated strategy of building an enduring political architecture well ahead of the 2027 general election, rather than mobilising only once the formal campaign season begins.
