The Proverbial saying ' that a hungry man is an angry man, was unfortunately dramatized in Imo on the 10th of October, when the proposed APC one million march that recorded less than three hundred participants , devolved into a physical fight between some students who were alleged to have been hired to boost the crowd size, but their promised two thousand naira hire fees was reportedly cut down.
One of the APC members from Orlu zone who preferred anonymity , told newsmen that the one Million March, was a failure and a show of shame . He went further to blame the key organizers of the said one Million March for failing to show maturity and selflessness in handling the appropriated logistics meant for mobilization and other welfare services. He noted that the issue of clash during campaign outings has become so common in the party with a set of leaders, who habitually service their personal interests, leaving the less privileged members with far less than what they were originally offered, without remembering that hunger is really bitting very hard in Imo and the nation at large .
The one Million March participants and alleged students that got glued in the punctuated act of affray at the end of the exercise, profusely complained that, the fight erupted when the released mobilization fee could not get to some of them. The fearless ones as claimed, decided to snatch the remnants and run away. One of them was caught , and fight ensued.
Speaking on the APC, One Million March and the affray scenario that happened in the street of Owerri , a Youth leader in Owerri zone Comrade Bright Ibezim recalled that the worst physical combat was recorded in the First City Boys rally in Owerri as many Imo indigenes are still suffering from the injuries of that event. He described the issue of repeated chaos in APC rallies as a bad omen.
In the words of the Youth leader in Owerri zone, Comrade Ibezim ". We the youths at home and in diaspora, have resolved to support Hon . Chima Amadi and other APP Candidates in Imo as the best choice in a party with the best manifesto, vision and policy.
