Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, undertakes inspection of key infrastructure projects in Abuja, including the Apo-Wassa Road and N16 Bridge.
As part of preparations for the second anniversary of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, on Saturday carried out an on-the-spot assessment of several critical road infrastructure projects within Abuja.
The minister visited the ongoing 15-kilometre Apo-Wassa Road project, a vital corridor expected to enhance connectivity and reduce travel time in the rapidly developing southern axis of the capital city. The road, upon completion, is projected to serve thousands of commuters daily and boost economic activities in adjoining communities.
Wike also inspected the N16 Bridge construction at NICON Junction, a project designed to ease congestion in one of Abuja’s busiest intersections and improve access between the Central Business District and surrounding areas.
In addition, the minister assessed the progress on the road project passing through Gishiri, which will link the Maitama and Katampe Districts directly to Wole Soyinka Way. This development is part of a broader infrastructure push aimed at decongesting traffic and improving intra-city mobility in line with the FCT Administration’s strategic urban planning framework
These projects are of utmost importance to the FCT and reflect President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” Wike said during the inspection. “We are working round the clock to ensure they are completed and ready for commissioning as part of the second anniversary celebrations of this administration.
The projects are among several slated for inauguration to mark two years of President Tinubu’s leadership, showcasing the administration’s commitment to infrastructure renewal, urban development, and improved quality of life for residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
With a strong focus on transparency, accountability, and timely delivery, Wike reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s dedication to ensuring that all ongoing projects meet the highest standards of quality and service to the public.
