The governor of Anambra State openly admitted to disregarding a plea for road repairs due to the lawmaker’s political alignment, proudly emphasizing his allegiance to his party.
Governor Soludo recounted dismissing complaints about the deteriorating state of Nwokedi Street in Okpoko community, Ogbaru Local Government Area, solely because the lawmaker, Noble Igwe, was affiliated with an opposing political party.
During a gathering with supporters of the ruling APGA, the governor announced his intention to withhold approval for development projects proposed by members of opposition parties in the State Assembly, asserting they would only receive their mandated salary without any additional support from him.
Speaking at the event to inaugurate 12 kilometers of roads in Okpoko, Governor Soludo acknowledged previously ignoring Noble Igwe’s plea for road repairs when he was associated with the opposition, highlighting the significant role of political alignment in influencing decisions.
He urged citizens to rally behind his administration, stressing his commitment to rebuilding Okpoko and fostering a sense of community among its residents, promising to allocate resources even if it required utilizing the entirety of the state’s funds.
Governor Soludo reiterated his determination to grant Okpoko the recognition it deserves, citing it as one of the primary motivations behind his pursuit of the governorship.
