Promote Entertainment Industry to improve revenue, Oluimo Comedy urges govt

Government has been urged to richly promote entertainment industry in the state to improve revenue generation.

The urge was made by a renowned entertainer in Imo State and Chief Executive Officer of Oluimo Comedy, Prince Igwe Johnson Tochukwu, while speaking to media professionals during the United Entertainers Friends Forum Award Festival 2024 held at Rockview Hotel, Owerri, on Thursday.

He said if the state government firmly invest in entertainment industry such as music, comedy, dance and movie Imo will generate huge revenue that will strengthen development and reduce crime and violence among youths.

Oluimo Comedy said he was not happy that many talented Imo breeds are frustrated because the government shys away on them, reiterating that if these talented, intelligent and strongly willed Imo youths are empowered they would become more useful to themselves, their families and their communities.

“There are a lot of talented musicians, comedians, actors, film directors, dancers and script writers in Imo State who need help from government to enable them push through in their career. This is why it is pertinent that the Imo State government promotes entertainment industry by investing hugely in it”, Prince Igwe reflected.

While hailing organizers of the event and founder of UEFF for being positive and thoughtful in rewarding excellence and goodness, Oluimo Comedy promised that he will always do his best to enliven entertainment industry in Imo State.

He called on financially balanced individuals to invest in entertainment industry to enhance resourcefulness among talented youths.
