The University of Nigeria Alumni Association (UNAA) recently held a three-day meeting in Owerri, Imo State. The theme was “Sustaining the Dignity of Man in a Traumatized Economy,” and members discussed various issues and successes.

Dr.Mrs Linda Agua-Onyekwelu, the National President, praised Governor Hope Uzodinma for the peaceful atmosphere in Owerri. She was pleased with the calm environment, which was perfect for the meeting.

Dr. Linda talked about her efforts to resolve conflicts within the alumni association. Before her term, there were groups causing trouble for personal gain. She has been working to settle these disputes by consulting with elders and important people.

She also highlighted the association’s push for better university management. They have raised concerns about student safety, such as a student getting electrocuted by a broken electric pole, and the poor condition of student hostels. The association wants universities to address these problems seriously.

Mazi Okey thanked Dr. Linda for her excellent leadership. He admired how well she answered journalists’ questions and called her a true leader.

The meeting showed the UNAA’s commitment to improving universities and maintaining dignity during tough economic times.
