The Imo State House of Assembly member for Mbaitoli State Constituency, Hon. Engr. Innocent Ikpamezie, has stopped internet scammers from hacking his WhatsApp account.
In a message to various media organizations, Hon. Ikpamezie shared the details of the incident:
“Important Notice: Dear friends, colleagues, and the people of Mbaitoli, please be informed that unknown internet scammers recently attempted to hack my WhatsApp account. The hackers sought to use my account to extort money from my contacts.
“Thankfully, I have now recovered my account. Please disregard any messages you may have received from my number requesting money or personal information during this period. I apologize for any inconvenience this unfortunate incident may have caused all my contacts.”
Hon. Ikpamezie thanked his community for their understanding and support during this time. He stressed the importance of staying alert against such scams and advised everyone to take steps to secure their accounts.
