The eastern waste management company has kicked off what the company refers to as total clampdown and sealing of organisations and company’s that refused to remit their revenue charges to the company’s account,the exercise which commenced last friday was led by the deputy managing director of EWAMAC, Mr Isimeme Agbi and members of his crack team,the revenue drive saw the companies taskforce transverse all the major streets in owerri searching for defaulters.
Speaking to newsmen after the exercise the DMD disclosed that the company will not waste time in sealing organisations that refueses to comply with their directive,he said that demand notice was issued to all the affected organisations and sees no reason why they should default,he hinted that a period of three months window grace was given to them,the DMD disclosed that revenue defaulters has no hiding place in imo as the company will device every means to get and punish them,he revealed that it cost so much money to run a waste disposal company and he wondered how the company would cope if people are not paying.
He also stated that the company rely mostly on the money gotten from revenue to run the company since the government is not funding them, he maintained that the company do not intend to use force on anybody but he urged all and sundry to always do the right thing.
The DMD emphasize that they are concentrating on banks, hotels, Supermarkets and eateries.
