Sure-Care Pharmacy CEO Onyedebelu Emerges Imo State 2024 Community Pharmacist Of The Year

It was a great and memorable day in Owerri, the Imo State Capital, as jubilant participants and admirers witnessed the emergence of the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Sure-Care Pharmacy Ltd, Pharm (Mrs.) Ndidi Onyedebelu, as the Community Pharmacist of the Year; a prestigious award that attested to her exploits as a community Pharmacist as well as the giant strides of the Sure-Care Pharmacy.

The uncommon honour was bestowed on her during the 2024 Annual Conference/Pharmacy Week of the Imo State Chapter of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) in Owerri recently, which witnessed various activities, including, lectures, health talks, picnic as well as luncheon and award presentations among other engaging and exciting activities.

In a similar development, her husband and the South East Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon Chief Augustine Onyedebelu, also received a prestigious award from the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria in recognition of his outstanding support and contributions towards the progress of the Imo State Chapter of PSN as well as the growth of the profession in state.

Presenting the award, the Imo State Chairman of PSN, Dr. Norbert Ajiero, lauded Chief Onyedebelu for his amiable leadership qualities and for being an important figure and significant source of assistance to the association in the state, adding that the astute politician’s investments in the pharmaceutical sector have impacted the profession positively.

The Imo State Chairman of PSN who was flaked by other state executive members of the association, stated that the award presented to Chief Onyedebelu, was symbolic of the association’s depth of gratitude to him as well as to encourage him not to relent on his good works towards the profession and the society at large.

Meanwhile, during his interaction with Journalists, Chief Onyedebelu, expressed gratitude to the Imo State Pharmacists for finding him and his wife worthy of the honours, hinting that the recognitions would spur him to contribute more towards the association and the profession in the state and beyond. He felicitated with the Imo PSN on the 2024 Annual Conference/ Pharmacy Week, hailing the exercise as successful and impactful.

He also commended Pharmacists in the state for their efforts in promoting the cause of the profession, saying: “Pharmacists are trying their best and if every healthcare sector will do as much as I see the pharmacists doing, I think that things will be very fine. Pharmacy practice in Imo State and in Owerri is one that requires extra efforts and commitment to achieve significant impact because the environment is not that business friendly.”

Emphasizing the need for Pharmacists to walk extra miles in achieving set objectives, the South East APC Publicity Secretary, averred: “I encourage them to concentrate on their jobs and to continue to contribute professionally towards the betterment of the healthcare delivery despite the challenges facing the country.”

He also reflected on the 2024 Community Pharmacist of the Year Award conferred on his wife, Pharm Ndidi Onyedebelu, describing it as an honour well deserved, while expressing pride in her exploits. “She has done very well and I am not surprised that she had the recognition,” he noted. Meanwhile, the outcome of the honours bestowed on Chief Onyedebelu and his wife, underscored the achievements and impact of the Sure-Care Pharmacy in the society.
